Derrick Matlock

As President/CEO of Component and Supply Co., Derrick sets the tone for how we transact business with two words “Customers First”.  Derrick has been working for as long as he can remember, cutting his teeth as a young boy growing up in a family business.  He performed every task possible in a business with upwards of 60 employees within three different industries. Derrick jokingly adds “When your dad owns the business; is there a choice?”, but does admit there was never a dull moment and it all provided a priceless education.  After attending Catawba Valley Community College, Derrick pursued new challenges away from the family business; starting off in a machine shop, moving to insurance, financial services, and banking.  Wanting to implement his gained business knowledge and understanding, he returns to the family business where he continues to be involved.  Over the last twenty years; Derrick has continued to build on his skill set holding various roles with a domestic manufacturer/importer of casters, furniture parts, metal stampings, and many other products.  The last being Director of NC Operations for 10 years until the company was sold.  Derrick is very grateful to every person and all the companies for the invaluable experience along the way and looks forward to the people he has not met and companies he has not helped - YET.
Derrick lives in Newton, NC with his wife, three wonderful daughters [very proud Dad] and is searching for the golf game he once had and lost.

JD [Justin] Herman

As Executive Director of Component and Supply Co., JD offers an extensive business background to our team.  Growing up on a farm, he is not afraid of work, spending his early years in the construction field building or renovating residential and commercial properties.  To this day; when time allows, JD still uses these skills when someone needs him.  After graduating college, with honors, JD applied his education to gain greater knowledge through work experience within several industries.  Being a Police Officer, Sales Agent, Plant Manager, Operations Manager, and Sales Manager lead him to become a business owner.  It is this path which gives him a unique understanding of what it takes to be successful.   JD works hard to offer our current/potential customers an exceptional buyers experience with their success in mind.  His knowledge of distribution and light manufacturing helps customers get a leg up on their competition.

Janson Ledford

As an Account Executive with Component and Supply Co., Janson brings a deep well of knowledge and ability.  Through his teenage, high school and college years, Janson spent countless hours in a warehouse, distribution and assembly setting learning casters and other products with a hands-on approach which lead to him being warehouse manager.  After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from Appalachian State University, he devoted his time to training young athletes helping them meet their goals bringing out the best athlete within them and even assisted the Athletics Department at Wake Forest University.  While working with these youth, Janson’s talents were noticed and he accepted an inside sales position at Penn Tool Sales and Service handling customer sales, sourcing, and warehouse operations.  Even though Janson enjoyed Penn Tool, there was a calling to do more.  Janson resigns from Penn Tool to relocate and after successful training earns a spot as a full-time Firefighter for the City of Concord. “Your community THANKS YOU Janson for your service”.  Now being established within the department and his flexible schedule, Janson can resume his enjoyment of working with customers providing a variety of products helping them accomplish workplace tasks and meet their production and/or deadline goals.
